Nerbac satellite office opens in Ormoc
ORMOC
CITY, April 17 (PNA) -- The Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO)
is the first department to transfer to the new City Hall complete with a
ribbon-cutting ceremony last April 6 attended by no less than
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Undersecretary for Regional
Operations and Development Group Merly Cruz.
Also inaugurated during that occasion is the satellite
office of the National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center
(Nerbac), the second of its kind in the country after Davao. Cruz said
they chose Ormoc to be the first Nerbac site in the Visayas because of
its successful streamlining of permits processing.
First time investors will go to the Nerbac for business name
registration instead of DTI.
The new BPLO office will also serve as a one-stop shop for
permits processing with tables made available for Social Security
System, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Home Development Mutual Fund
and Bureau of Internal Revenue.
The streamlined permits processing garnered for Ormoc the
award Most Business Friendly City in the Visayas in 2005.
The German Technical Cooperation Agency also sent Permits,
Licensing and Franchising Chief Emilio G. Tingson abroad to speak in
Indonesia and Italy on Ormoc’s successful experience. (PNA)
